As individuals age, cheek tissue can become droopy, which causes the cheekbones to appear less prominent. This can create unwanted lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Atlanta plastic surgeon, Dr. John Connors, uses cheek lift surgery to help reposition the tissue over the cheekbones to restore a younger, more prominent facial contour. Some refer to this as a mid-face lift. This surgery is often done using an endoscopic approach, gently lifting the cheeks upward to achieve subtle, natural results. It is common to combine this surgery with other facial surgeries, such as an eyelid tuck or a full facelift.
"Dr. Connors and his staff are some of the most wonderful people I have met since moving to Atlanta. "MiraDry is my lifesaver! I never thought the day would come where I could drive past the dry cleaners without having to drop off yet another dress shirt. The amount of money I’m saving alone on cleaning makes the procedure completely worth it, but I gained confidence to boot! No more sweating through my clothes or worrying about how I smell, just dry armpits from here on out and I couldn’t be happier! The staff at Plastic Surgery Group of Atlanta is the absolute best and made the entire process nothing short of wonderful!"- D.B. / Google / Mar 17, 2021

"I received breast implants at an early age. As the years passed, I dealt with issues of asymmetry that required multiple surgeries. Each time, the surgeons forced me to go larger in size than I wanted. I came to Dr. Connors because I felt no one was listening to me or giving me other options. I am small framed and I felt very unbalanced and top heavy. Dr. Connors spent time with me and gave me options no other surgeon had given me, allowing me to be a much smaller and proportionate size. The staff was absolutely amazing!! They really care about their patients. The day of my first post-operative appointment, my dressings were removed and I cried! I finally felt like my breasts belonged on my body. I can't thank Dr. Connors and his caring staff enough. I would highly recommend them!!"- T.L. / Google / Mar 10, 2021
During a cheek lift procedure, incisions are made around the hairline and ear. Endoscopy is the popular way to perform this surgery because it gives the surgeon a good view of the inside of the cheek, and helps to minimize scarring. Using sutures that are placed directly in the fat pad, the cheek is pulled back up to its original position, giving the face a more youthful appearance. This procedure tightens and smoothes the appearance of nasolabial folds, as well as the vertical lines that run downward from the mouth and on the sides of the chin.
All cheek lift procedures are performed under general anesthesia at an accredited surgical facility. The length of the surgery, if performed alone, will usually vary between 1-2 hours. This surgery is considered an outpatient procedure. After surgery, patients will be bruised and swollen and the face will feel tight. The recovery following a cheek lift takes about 7-10 days. It is common for patients to feel anxious about how their face will appear. It may take up to several months or longer for the final results to appear.

Cheek Lift FAQs
While surgery typically produces the most dramatic results, many patients may find satisfactory results with injectable fillers. This approach, while successful, is better reserved for patients who are not as concerned with drooping, loose skin. Certain fillers can assist in smoothing out wrinkles, improving fine lines and adding facial volume under the cheeks. These options can be discussed during the initial consultation.
Will I Look Fake?
In the days immediately following any kind of facial surgery, patients will feel tight and pulled. The cheeks, in particular, will feel stretched as the skin adjusts to its new position. This is a short-term effect and will subside, leaving the cheeks to feel natural. It’s important to find a reputable surgeon skilled in facial surgery. Surgeons who know what they are doing will make every effort to work within the confines of the patient’s bone, skin and muscle structures for a younger, more natural look can result.
What About Scars?
Cheek lifts have advanced greatly in recent years, leaving scars to look inconspicuous. The incisions are typically made along the natural hairline, or along the crease of the natural folds of the face. The sutures are usually placed under the skin. The majority of the time, patients fully heal from this surgery, and the scars are barely visible to the naked eye.
